A study about the efficacy of cefpiramide sodium(Cefirad^(¢ç)) on the postperative bacterial infections and various diseases of Neurosurgery




Abstract
The purpose of this study was to evaluate the efficacy and toxicity of cefpiramide sodium(Cefirad¢ç¢¥ ). We administered cefpiramide sodium intravenously, single on in combination with other antibiotics, for whom had a various diseases of neurosurgery prophylactically on therapeatically.
The results of the study were as follows;
1. 1 gm of cefpiramide sodium in a day, was administered intravenously for 6-7 days with a range of 3-31 days.
2. Almost all patients with fever and symptoms had been subsided within 3-5 days after application.
3. One case(3.2 %) had been failed to this treatment in which case the ventriculitis of unknown. origin showed so effectiveness to this therapeutic agent. 4. In prophylactic use, the efficacy of the cefpiramide sodium was 93.8% (15/16).
5. In therapeutic use, the efficacy of the cefpiramide sodium was 86.7% (13/15). 6. No any significant local or systemic toxic and side effects were noted.
